Hi,

the pick-up switching on my JP7s (as far as I know) is as such that in the middle position of the pick-up selector switch both pick-ups are used together but split, so only one coil (inner coils) of each humbucker is being used. Is that correct?

Now I read that on the BFR JP6/JP7 models the tone pot has a push-pull for splitting the coils. What is the difference? Dies this allow for both humbuckers also to be used together un-split? and does that switching also allow for say only using the neck humbucker split?

Thanks,
Lars

BFR JPs have a push pull that toggles between inner coils (split) and both hums. You don't have neck/bridge split alone.

Oh, OK, gotcha.
But am I correct that on the standard/ non-BFR JP6/JP7 the middle position has the humbuckers' inner coils split?
So, basically the cil tap on the BFR only adds this one sound f both humbuckers together un-split?

Yes and yes :D

And I believe the later JP models have the same type of switching (except for the JPX which has the fiveway, and JP13, Majesty and JP15 which add the boost on top of that)

I actually use the middle position quite a lot. The only option I would love to have added is the neck humbucker split alone, but I would probably not use both humbuckers together so often (if ever).

So am I right in thinking the push pull on the tone only splits the pickups when they are in the middle position so it's not really a coil tap . I have just got a JP15 and thought there was a problem with it
