Serial Numbers : What is the production date of my guitar?

Hi A.J! I found a real strange guitar! It has the body of the EVH in trans purple, but the neck is a non matching headstock with Axis logo! Here is the serial: G26791 the owner swears that he bought it new in a shop here in Italy between 96 and 98.
Can you find any info??

That is a strange guitar. The serial number belongs to an Axis in trans red (plain headstock) completed on December 7th, 2004.
