Congrats Eric! That is a killer head at an amazing price! It doesn't get much better than that one when you play a lot of Van Halen. Enjoy...

Thanks guys! I really shop around! So now i need a cab, any good suggestions, im goin 212, for size and weight issues, if money were no object i would get a mesa recto 212, i love the looks of them and they sound great and are a sound investment since there value never drops really, or a marshall 1936 maybe, any other ideas?

Well, keeping price in mind, I found this Peavey 2x12 for $100 at guitar center. The brand will match, and if the speakers are crap, you can replace them.

It's listed as: Used Peavey Heritage 2x12 guitar cabinet

Or, a Marshall 2x12 for $250.

And, finally the evh for $350:

I am rocking a 1x12 cabinet with a Celestion Vintage 30. I worried that it wouldn't sound as good as a 2x12, but it sounds fine. 1x12's are sometimes less expensive.

The EVHs are 25 watt speakers arent they? I like the look of the black EVH 212 though but i dont know much about speaker amd wattage and ohms and such as i was always a combo guy.

Wha???

The old saying here for guitars... "no pics, it doesn't exist".

To play on that, I said for amps "if I can't hear it, it doesn't exist"....

It ain't funny if I have to explain it... Or it ain't funny to begin with.... If that is the case, then kma! :)

I believe the evh's are 25 watts. As far as ohms goes, the speakers must match the amps ohm output. Some amps have a couple of different ohm outputs, depending on which you plug into. As long as they match, you are good.

I cant wait to fire this thing up! Im saving for a good cab now, and the suspense is killing me!

Theres a lot of cork sniffing with cabinets. A 200$ peavey cabinet with celestion V30's will pretty much sound identical to a 900$ mesa boogie cabinet with celestion v30s.

For example, under 100$, this comes loaded with celestions with a 300w power ceiling. Not the best speakers, but a good match for the 5150's.

I played that same head for about 15 years, a classic for sure. Never liked the 5150II as much, the original just killed. Great deal, looks like it's in vg condition. I've had the 50w head for about a year now, love it.
