Uh huh. Just got a set of Cobalt Flats cuz it seems like a
good idea. All my basses sound great already, with their
various string sets. Having realized recently that I have
too many basses, buying another bass to string up with
the Cobalt Flats is no longer my SOP.

Acoarst, the candidates are limited to a minority of the
herd. Cobalt is all about magnetic PUs, so the piezos are
not in the running. It's a 4-string set, so the 5's are out.

I'm thinking maybe my SUB, cuz it's wearing Cobalt RW
but flats would make the frets last forever ... which is a
concern, since it was made on my birthday which makes
it a lifetime keeper :)

I've had them on my Bongo 5HHp and my Stingray Classic. They sounded great on both - I don't think you can go wrong with them.

Im very excited by these Cobalt flats - much as I like the EB Group 3 flats on my 3 band fretless Stingray, I'm very inclined to try a set of Cobalt flats on it - seem to offer a good compromise between flat wound thump and fundamental, round wood style zing and fretboard friendliness of flats.
