I really love my new luke 3 and i'm sure this is my #1 guitar now. But i would love to be able to have a coil split on the humbucker or even better a way to have one of the 2 coils of the humbucker on in every position. So i could get neck and bridge single coil and 3 single coils at the same time.

Has annyone ever done anny of the above mods on one of these guitars? Anny ideas where i could ad a swicht to the guitar. ANNY ideas and input is welcome on this!

Well after some research i think i have figgured out a verry simple mod that will do all i was looking for.
I'll install a push pull. When pulling up the bridge humbucker will split and it will be on in all positions. Giving me normal operation in down position and the following in up position:
1- bridge sc
2- bridge + midle sc
3- does the same as 2
4- all 3 single coils
5- bridge and neck sc

Push/pull is comming in tomorow but i allready tried it all out using the stock vollume pot. Should work verry well. Nice strat and tele style sounds!

I want to do it with my Luke 3 HH. My is the first version with the boost os the tone pot, so i have to use a push push in the volume pot. What is the spec of the pot i should get?

I ordered a 25k push/pull pot (made by/for emg) as the original is also 25k. I ordered the long shaft version, the original has a pretty long shaft aswell. It should all fit but i wont be sure till its installed.

Another option (instead of a split) is to put the bridge in parallel with a push/pull. Gets you close to the same effect but it's inherently noise cancelling.

ok, just installed the push pull. emg 25k pot.
it is not a perfect fit, the shaft is longer and a bit thinner, different tread but nothing that can't be resolved with a few washers. (you could try the "short shaft" version, but that one might be too short)
the function is perfect, got me 4 extra sounds....

Ok, will wait for your results.
Ok, if you do use the emg push pull pot for this, be verry carefull soldering to it. I have quite some experience soldering and seems like a few seconds of heat is enough to smoke these. Never happened to me before, i'm allways very carefull soldering the ground to the pot. But never the less mine is ruined.
I'll order a new one and just use the jack or something alse to ground to.... i sugest you do the same.
The mod. Itself does work perfectly. Just not the perfect pots for the job but cant find anny others so they will do fine i guess :)
