Or new closet classic bass day - condition = 9.9! Major score for me - been looking for a Sterling 5H for a while now - all my preferences too - light weight (under 9#, honey burst, matching head stock, RW board) - found it by accident on talkbass - was looking around for latest classifieds and came across it - and I always check the bass guitars for sale section, but somehow missed this one when it was first listed. I did a search for the serial number and it was requested on here by a previous owner - it's a 2008 and as it turns out, so is my Sterling 4H! This makes a nice pair - got the clear pick guard on this one too. The grain is way better on the 4, but can't be picky about things like that. Anyway - like - like - like! No more GAS at this time.

That is so sweet. The clear pg looks great on your two. I have a sterling 5 HS honeyburst with rosewood I got off tb a few months back. Out of the 6 sterlings it is my favorite. Decided to change my avatar since I no longer have the white one.

If i where you i'd post the serial number again and ask abouth the wood used for the body. Looks like mahogany or alder to me.... i could be wrong. Might be a special run?

Annyhow, great looking coupleof basses!

Good idea! I thought the same thing too - maybe alder. It does not have the grain that ash usually has.

Those are 3 fine basses, man! Strange how both your sterlings are made in 2008, yet the burst on the 4 string looks more brown, the 5 strings seems more red.
