Alas, no. I love the sound of the Luke, but my hands are a little too big for it. Now, if that was Petrucci, it would be a different story... But I love killer wood, and that finish is off the charts!

What are the neck shapes on the Luke and the Petrucci?

How is the shape of the JP different that's to your liking?

The Luke and JP have massively different Necks.
I was thinking about getting a Luke too, but it's got a V shaped Neck, and I strongly prefer the Thinner D Shape on the JPs

Think of the JP as shallow and wide compared to the Luke's deep (in a V shape) and narrow. They are both great, and I switch back and forth easily.

That Luke is sick....

Thanks for the replies, all. I have a JP15, which I love, and a Luke3 HH PDN on order, but I've never had the opportunity to play a Luke or Luke3 yet, just drooled over the tone from video demos. Hopefully, I'll switch between them as easily as MikeVt says he does.

No Luke III here, but three Luke IIs and 4 Petrucci variants. No problems switching between them, Silhouettes, Axes, an EVH, and even an Armada (huge neck). For me, EBMM necks always feel right, regardless of model.

That is one insane top! Major suckage!
