Old thread, but for me for me currently interesting.
I was a little bored of my LukeII. Tryed a EMG89 and it became very cool, but it wouldn´t thrill me too much. Not, that it sounded bad at all, but I wanted a little more "live" and a more metal-sounding Guitar. Tested an JP6 and bääämmmmmm... there it was. Too bad, the guitar felt not right to me. 24 Frets confuse me and the neck shape is a little too "fast".
So, here´s my Metal-Luke with Sounds like a new guitar to me.
The neck pickup is a Duncan Hotrails (Bridge), I had flying around for many years. These two complement each other very well. Both are splittable, but I made it switchable par/ser.
