No. BUT - are you using a D-Tuna? If so - you might have some problems there. Also - you will want to make sure your set-up is tweaked to accommodate the 11s.

The problem using 10s & 11S is that they put groves in the locking nut and if that happens good luck locking it as tight when you put 9s on it again. I had problems with this from a used Axis I bought.

Good Luck

When I use 11s on my axis I tune down to C!!! 11s are way to heavy for the axis! Try 8s tuned to A!!, 9s in E dropped D, 10s D dropped C!! This just works for me!! And it doesn't make you're trem come up, also no springs need to be added.

This is a stop tailpiece model, so no issues w/ D-Tuna or floating trem. As for detuning, that's not my reason - I want thicker strings for better tone, to strengthen my fingers, and to make me work harder. So long as there's no physical reason to be fearful of putting heavier gauge strings on my EBMM EVH @ standard tuning (I know that these necks have a rep for being somewhat fragile) then I'm good to go.

Hello

I use 11-52 strings on my SUB with standard tuning. The EBMM are all more or less the same (the profiles can be a bit different, but they all use more or less the same quantity of wood).
No problem with my SUB. You just have to adjust the truss rod and perhaps file a bit the nut slots to adjust the width of the slots.
My SUB has the MM tremolo. The more tension you have, the better it works !
