I agree with what you said except for one thing. Amendment rights have nothing to do with a privately owned forum..I think that that misconception is what happens here on a semi regular basis. This is BP's house. Don't put your feet on the table.

I didn't realize that this was BP's house. I thought it was a guitar forum - albeit privately owned - where customers as well as company personnel are treated with respect.

As for not PMing BP, that obviously needs to be observed and honored. That's just common sense and courtesy. But does this forum need to be so heavy handed? I mean, BP makes his point, and others automatically pile on the offender. I'm not talking about the occasional goof ball, but about EBMM customers, who for the most part are civil and polite.

You mess with the bull, you get the horns, I guess. :D

It's great to have so many people having our back. Have a great weekend, y'all!

WTF? If you didn't get that this is Sterlings place, guess what? It is. It has also been asked over and over again that people do not PM Sterling, and still some people don't get it. What is heavy handed about this thread or anything within this thread?

How many times has this company gone over and above for you? How many Silo bodies have we replaced for you, when the only thing that was wrong was a natural occurrence in the wood that we have no control over?

I don't mind the bull or the horns, when it's in good humor. But, I'm neither his child nor his employee. Having spent my working life in sales and marketing, I just can not even imagine talking to my customers the way some are, on occasion, spoken to here. My daddy taught me (God rest his soul) that if you dish it out, you have to be able to take it. I have no doubt BP's tough enough to do that, one on one. It's the pile on that sometimes seems over the top to me. If it's between an offender and BP, I'm sure he can handle it one one on one. And it probably would eliminate these long, arduous and unnecessarily negative threads.

But what do I know? I'm just a customer, albeit a very small one.

And you, as well as all of our customers are important. Why don't you get that? If we didn't think you were important to us, why would we do what we have done in the past for you?

I think I just figured it out. Entitlement.

Jon, with all due respect, I don't think you really want me to answer that in full detail. At least not here. It's not a totally rosy picture, if you recall. I've never said a derogatory remark about EB guitars, your CS, or BP. Quite the contrary, if you care to search my history.

But you know what? It's more important to me that I continue receiving your product support, than it is to be part of this forum; no personal offense to anyone here. And I think if this continues, I may lose that product support. I've said what I felt needed to be said, and will leave it at that. I'm not too busy to reply in PM, though. ;)

LOL! Brother, that is one thing it isn't. No, it's two things: friendship and mutual support. For the most part, imo, it works well here. There's always the occasional spasm. No biggie, if it's not made a biggie.

Dang, I hardly even come over here. I guess I should be more of a regular visitor.

Listen, guys, the BP Posse is hard to control. It happens on the Real Forum...um, I mean the Bass Forum as well. I don't like deleting or editing posts or threads, but when the pile-on begins, sometimes I do.

So let's agree on one thing here. No, wait, a few things.

1. Don't PM BP. He's asked nicely and that should be enough.

2. Wilson is a volleyball.

3. It's when we start to beat it to death that feelings get hurt, so let's not flog this one anymore.

Candidx its been closed but there are simple rules of engagement. When I get beeped 10times by the same person after working hours I will make it public. I do not make each pm public.

You will not get corporate speak from me and I can take it. Asking someone to not pm me is not exhibiting poor customer service. You are on a biased forum that differs from your deep eastern philosophy. Peer pressure is the last resort after I have exhausted all others.

There was no piling on becuase the offending party never responded in this thread. The piling on occured when people claimed first amendment rights to pm me and general entitlement. The argument was if I was reasonable in asking people to not pm me. Many feel that I am fair and open game...others know that there are only so many hours in a day .

PM's started driving me crazy when I would get one and the answer it and get two back and then I was geting personal notes on a daily basis that required attention and if I ignored them I was damned if I did and damned if I didn't. People were creating a pen pal relationship for things that were already discussed here on the forum. Remember BigBallz...He invited himself down for a private lunch and private tour.... IF PM's didnt get out of control I wouldnt mind the random one off.

Give this the reasonable test. Would I make a big deal out of PM'S and risk offending offenders and bystanders if it hadnt become an epidemic? Would someone who has been as open as me slam the door on communication if it was reasonable? How about the benefit of the doubt?
