That's really neat where did you find it? I wish the basses now came with manuals like that. It would have saved me some time and money having someone adjust the pickups for me.

It's just amazing what we are expected to know these days. A few years ago, everything came with a detailed user manual or pamplet. Now it's mostly just plug, play and figure it out on your own. Not that most of us can't, but it would be nice to have a little more info on the products we buy.

BTW, I'm not directing this at EBMM, it's just a general observation.

true, but at the same time im betting is a safe guess that this forum (and teh dudepit etc) didnt exist in 1978 :) youre right in saying we're expected to know more. ... but we know a sh**load more & we have crazy colaberative mediums like this.

... someone on this forums can answer any crazy question possible. ill take that over a pamplet (which i'd lose) any day

I wish they would return to providing manuals ,hang tags and stuff. It gives you something to pour over when you put the new bass down.It would help to have the proper information about bridge set up, intonation, and truss rod adjustment available to those that may not be familiar with setups. Also gives the collectors something else to collect. It would help to make people more aware of the instrument and its virtues.

Of course the flip side is that most people don't even look at the manuals they do have.

I work in a body shop at an Acura dealership. Whenever the battery is disconnected on most Acura's, the radio goes into an anti-theft mode. This means that you have to have a 5 digit code to punch in to make it work again. Very few of my customers have any knowledge of this function even though it is clearly stated in the owner's manual and they are provided with this number on a credit card piece of plastic when they purchase the new vehicle. It makes for a real pain in the a$$ after the car has been repaired and no one knows the radio code. The only way you can get it is to remove the radio (easy on some models - major pita on the rest), get the serial number off of the radio and get the code from Acura.
