:) :)

Hello everyone!
I'm new to the forum and a recent Stingray owner.
1979 SR serial # BO15767.
Great Bass, very aggresive sound while being quite able to have a deep thumpy tone as well.
Anyone have or know where I can get the mute assembly complete with mute pads and thumb screws? I want it purely for looks, not function.
Ernie Ball has none in stock. Darn!!!
Appreciate any help offered.

Did you contact EB direct...their service dept? I'd try and talk to one of their techs...I know a few guys who have been able to do that :)

I thought EB would have had the mute pads in stock. In any event, they can be made from a black mouse pad. I can give you the exact measurements if you need them. They are attached to the mute assembly with double sided tape...just like the real thing.

The mute assembly complete with thumb screws will be hard to get. I've seen them a couple of times on the Ebay auction site.

Why I suggested that is because their techs have recently come by a stock of original Pre-EB pre-amps....you never know....they may have some other goodies....worth a try, hey!

Hi Guys,
Just an update.
I finally got in touch with Ernie Ball and want to comment how great their customer service is.
I spoke with Dan in the Parts Dept. I asked him if he could look around their old parts bins for the Mute assembly for my SR. He called me back after a day and said he found the spring assembly with the mutes attatched but alas, NO thumb screws.
Anyway,
I must applaud Dan for his help. He went above and beyond and took the time to help someone when he didn't really have to.
Great customer service.
Thanks Ernie Ball.

Hey Rod,
I just got back from vacation and got a chance to catch up with things.
WOW!!!
That's high!
I think I'll pass on that one.
Just prior to my trip I found a source on the net for the thumbscrews. http://www.mortonmachine.com/thumb/sskhscrew.shtml
I looks very close, the only thing wrong is the angle of the head is squared not sloped as with the originals and the head dimension should be 1/2in. NOT 3/8 in.
Anyway, I can live with the difference. Its functional and looks great.
Morton has a minimum order so I now have an abundance of thumbscrews.
That's the story of my life, "Either none, or way too much". LOL:(
I f you know any one in need, Let me know. I have 17 left.
