So I'm organizing my garage a couple weeks ago, and I came across this box that had some old music magazines that I held onto for one reason or another. I hadn't opened this box in years, so I went through it and found some cool articles I forgot about. The biggest treat was in a Guitar Player magazine from October 1987 that had an interview with Albert Lee.
When I purchased this issue, I was 19, and never really heard of Music Man, and I was playing Fenders (again..I was 19...I was clueless) I dont remember reading the Albert article at all...so when I saw it again recently...I was looking at the same article again 22 years later and it made me realize how much I matured musically, and appreciate true players like Mr. Lee.
I was also surprised to find the original sound page that came with the magazine...in excellent condition. On this sound page is a song called "Fun Ranch Frolics" by Albert and our very own Big Poppa.
You have no idea how I wish I had a turntable to play it on now....
Anyway...here are some scans I did to show Albert back then in 1987...holding a Silhouette...which was his main guitar at the time according to the article, and the sound page with the Albert / Big Poppa jam.
