Hi,
Yesterday I happened to fall on a low priced 1991 musicman Sabre bass. I know pickups, electronics and bridge were changed for those late Sabre. I was just wondering, does it still worth the buy? Is there a big difference soundwise? This bass is really tempting me and i just wanted to know if it is as good as those old Sabre, 1979 for exemple.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english:p

Sabres of any ilk are seldome on the market. The #1 rule of bassdom is play it.

Sounds good+ feels good+ plays good= is good. No matter what.

If silly cheap money and you like it, buy it. You may never see another for sale.

If it's in decent shape and the price is right, grab it!
It's also the last year for production for the Sabres.

Shoot first and ask questions later.

Any Sabre is a good buy, as long as it's all intact. And as you said, the price is low.
If it turns out you eventually don't like it, you can always easily make your money back since there's a waiting list of folks looking for them.
