1992 trans white Stingray.

I've really never shown any of my basses here. I have two Stingrays. This is one of them. A 1992 Stingray with Status lined fretless graphite neck wearing group III flats

When I bought it used it was stock. It was sent back to Ernie Ball where it had a new pickup & preamp installed. I added a graphite lined fretless neck and a gold swirl pickguard. This thing plays so nice and sounds incredible..

that is one sweet ride! How's the Status neck? Is that a totally different beast from your 30th?

I've recently had my trans white ray described to me by a potential buyer as "the holy grail" there is really nothing like them.. Do you still have the original neck? The figuring on mine is spectacular.

The graphite neck is really nice, verry stable and looks incredibly good on that bass. I have never really A/B'ed the two basses. The graphite neck seems to make the trans white bass a tad more punchy and gives it a little more growl than it already had. The 30th has a little warmer tone while still being quite punchy. The 30th has a nice woody more organic sound.

They both sound awesome but I think the 30th is the best sounding of the two. However I do like the lines on the graphite neck more than the blank plank on the 30th.

I do still have the original trans white neck and it is a beauty. I also still have the original pickguard like yours. Mine has the rosewood fingerboard instead of the maple like yours.

that is awesome! I have a '94 trans white stingray and am just about to order a moses graphite fretless, can't wait!

You won't regret your choice to go with a graphite fretless neck. I think it also gives the trans white bass more of a chorus type effect than the wooden neck on the 30th.

No matter how you slice it fretless necks sound great on stingray basses. I've have a few fretless basses in my time and the stingrays beat them all hands down.
