Ok so I've had this stingray for about 10 years now or so...
its always had a problem with the input...
a few years back i took it in a store to get them to fix it...
every since then i would have to take it out every now and again and try to bend the post back to where they would make a good connection...
well yesterday one of the post finally broke!
i went to take it out and see if i could get a replacement or even see whats actually going on in there and several of the wires broke off...
this isn't as big of a deal as it would have been a few years ago... I've rewired several guitars etc...
but I've never had a need to do anything with this bass... so i know VERY little about it...
i looked around the Internet and had a hard time trying to find schematics and all for this setup...
it has a 3 band eq on it and all... i went out and got a stereo plug to try for the input (the old input was all in a box and everything... i didn't understand it) the old input had 4 post it to solder the wires to and two post that make connection with the guitar cable.
I've tried several different ways to connect this stuff... and still haven't gotten the thing to work right....
i need some help on this...
the bad news... I'm going into the studio on Tuesday so i need to get this thing fixed by Monday... there isn't really a music store around here that will work on these (the two local ones have told me they don't work on these basses.)
so if anyone has any type of info on these it would help me out so much!
thanks
Ray

also i did find a few schematics... but where to conect things on the jack was a little unclear.
thanks so much

The black box works as a switch, so when you plug in the cable, the eq is turned on, and turned off when you unplug.

The only place I buy replacement box-style jacks is from EBMM.

I think you can use a standard type jack as long as it has the switching feature. You'll probably need to call or email EBMM for a schematic, as the ones Smallmouth linked on that page are not wiring schematics.
