I changed the strings of my EBMM SM today for the first time after owning it for half a year now. The stock strings sounded so good but hardly needed a replacement ;)

Whilst changing I discovered that the 1st and 2nd string cutted in the wood behind the neck. Are you having this on your EBMM´s too? Is it a matter of construction (4/2 headstock to avoid string trees - so the tuners are close to the nut - Lower nut on the treble side). Or did I do something wrong ?

It is not a matter and i´m sure, nothing´s wrong with it, but I´d like to know.

Unfortunately, by leaving your strings on for so long, you have damaged your guitar beyond economic repair.
If you send it to me I will dispose of it for you, free of charge.

My AL does this slightly on the low E string - but it doesn't seem to bind the string or anything, so I don't care. I think it's a minor design flaw which has since been rectified (I'm sure I saw a thread on this before).

yeh the low e on my jp6 slightly touches in between the nut and the tuner
hasnt caused me any problems

i remember there were some threads about this a while ago

but i never saw the high strings doing it
and especially digging such a groove in like that!
