I brought out my 5HH for tonight's service, in short, I was heard! The bass signal is sent thru my Radial JDI to the house mix, then back to me via an Aviom in ear monitor system; no amps on stage.....This thing sounded thick, rich and punchy. All detents were centered, with the treble rolled back to "0"; still fairly bright with the Slinkys. The other two guys I share bass duties with, both use Lakland 55-02's, and a lot of 55-02 hints were dropped my way, when I put my Fender up for sale; glad I didn't conform. After the 1st service, the whole band stood around the bass, asking questions about my Bongo and complimenting my Bongo.....they really liked how it cut thru the mix, not one hint of mud. The best comment was made by the guitarist...."Steve, when you were playing in the upper register, your sound didn't thin out like it does with Andy and Greg's 55-02s".....and "I can finally hear you". Yeah, I think I'll be lovin' this bass for a long while!:D

So much for the Skylines... ;)

No really, I had a similar experience when switching from the 55-94 to the StingRay, especially the Dargie. In one rehearsal our trupet player told me he had the impression that I play a lot louder since I had "that new bass". :D

I guess all the EBMM's are made to be heard. So, nothing for player's who prefer to remain unnoticed... ;)

Yep! One of our guys has a 55-94 too....nice bass. Our drummer also mentioned that I'm much louder with the Bongo. I don't think I'm louder, just heard. My notes are not washed out in the monitors and foh, like they were with the RB5.
