So I was just starting to fully coalesce this nice litttle E- melody half way through our first tune(I believe at about the 9min. mark) and low and behold....... my G string broke!! so in true riock star fashion;without dropping a beat; i tore it off , threw it into the gutter(outdoor StreetSounds Jazz fest) and kept going. Finished the song and grabbed my fretless5 Bongo for the rest of the set.
So now my Sterling is nylon-less and I'm back to theECB81s for a while.........
first string I've broken in 10 years!! and I do believe the 2nd string ever I've broken.
I guess that'll learn me. :(

imagine a young innocent mini version of me, calling my LMS and telling them that my g string broke my nut.... that's good times.

But what I'm concerned with is the fact that you were halfway through the first tune and you were at the 9 minute mark?

wow..

:D

ya, it was COmbustible Jimmy's first outing and we managed 3 songs in a 50min. set..... good blues/modal/jammin' times
and when Steve, our guitarist, finally showed us all why he'd brought along a keyboard stand(to lay his Jem flat on it and start to play it like a piano.....well as if Steve vai were palying piano) the crowd loved it.
many more gigs to come hopefully with G strings intact :D

I remember breaking my G string back in February. First one i've ever snapped. On a $50 set of strings too.

Never again will I play those strings. It's EB strings for me from now on. ;)
