Today is the first day I get to show off the new JP to the masses. We're doing a military appreciation show at Pensacola Beach. Gonna run both mag and piezo on separate channels in FOH. Still a little shaky on getting the switching right.

I expect the Mystic Dream is gonna be spectacular in the sunlight on the beach.

I'm gonna put a special plug in for EBMM at the show. Pics to follow....

Break a leg, eh?

Sig, how'd the gig go?

I hear ya on getting used to the switching. It's taken me about a month to get used to the two switches for the Piezo/Mag Pups. What did you do for the Piezo, did you run straight to the board, or did you use an acoustic-specific combo amp? I'm still debating on which Combo amp to pick up for my Piezo and any opinions I can get on the different brands would help out a great deal.

By the way, I've been away for a while, good to be back, folks! The new album is selling pretty good!

The show was decent. Wasn't great. Wasn't terrible. Crowd turnout was low but that was expected. November in Pensacola is Festival time.

As I expected, switching was an issue. Piezo to mag to mag clean to blah blah blah. Gotta figure out a better system.

Show setup was stereo out of the JP to a TRS splitter cable. Mag side to pedal board input. Piezo to Yamaha AG Stomp (great pedal - more on this later) to direct box to FOH board.

Anyway, for what I do, it's either mag or both. Trying to hit the middle position on the horn switch while changing from dirty to clean on the footswitch threw me. My first impression is to rewire the horn switch where mag+piezo is the 'up", piezo only is middle and mag only is the down. Switch slamming is easier for me than focusing on getting the selector in the middle. I don't know if this is even an option yet - gotta crack the compartment. I'm also going to add a volume pedal on the piezo line to roll the piezo signal into the mix while I'm doing whatever on the mag side without having to "stutter" my playing by switching in the piezo.

The AG Stomp is a great tool for the piezo. Out of the box I found some good presets that I could use on FOH. With the USB editor, I'll be able to dial in exactly what I'm looking for on the acoustic tones.

Let you know how it goes later.
