Hello peoples,

Second post on this forum, I'm a dutch bassist owning a Stingray 4 2 EQ from 1993.
Now I have a question which I've read a lot about, but never got the definitive answer.
This may have been asked before... But I wouldn't now what keywords to use and couldn't find anything any other way.

Have I got;
A 2 band only boost EQ...
Or is it a 2 band EQ without the bump in the middle, but WITH cut and boost?

Thanks in advance, and my apologies if this is a regular question around here... Or an obvious answer. ;)

Cheers,
VDV.

" I think that there is a big difference...the two band is a boost only and the three band is cut/boost w/a center detent. CUtting the mids and boostin the treb and bass is really good and boosting the mids and boosting the bass 1/2 way whilst leaving the treble flat is another great sound. If you utilize the cut and boost abilities the three band has many more tonal possibilities. In defense of the two band it gets the Classic MM tone easier and maybe a touch meatier."

Quote from Big Poppa, found it in an old thread.

Nice looking Ray!

They've actually always been both boost and cut. There is just no center detente on the 2 band...
