Hi

I've got hold of a Silo30 (white) which I've had set up and some Dimarzios fitted (AT1 and area single coils). But I'm so happy with this pickup combo, I'm putting this pickguard assembly on my Silo Spec, as I've never really got on with the stock Dimarzios.

So, i'm going to go for two humbuckers with a 5 way superswitch like the ASS and AL HH.

I will definitely have an AT-1 in the bridge position, so what would match up in the neck position? I've never really used 2 humbucker set ups before, so i'm not entirely sure what to go for.

I will also need a silo spec pickguard cut out for two humbuckers. I assume EBMM dont make one. So where could I get one made? Preferably somewhere in the UK. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice on this.

Cheers
Mark.

Hey mate.SIMS make pickguards in the UK. There may be a guitar shop close to you how could recommend something.

As far as meck humbuckers go... i like my origional AXIS humbucker and im looking for something that comes close to that...but cant find anythig as smooth yet. check the Dimarzio site. they have a pickup finder you can try.

Cheers,

One of my favorite pickups for neck work is a Bare Knuckle Rebel yell neck humbucker. Smooooooooooth with some chime and modern all at once.

The 36th PAF is my fave neck pup from DiMarzio.

Don't forget, you can call them, they give great phone, and have a 30-day return policy. :)

I ordered my HH-pickguard here: Dazbootman Pickguards
Did fit perfectly. It was for a non-special Silo, though. And they don't offer SS-pickguards ATM. Maybe if you ask. They also do custom pickguards.

Look at my other threads.... I'm also in the UK but couldn't get one here.
Mike from Quickguards is your man.
He'll make anything and from any material.
Prices are too cheap but don't tell him I said that... ha ha.
Avoid Simms... poor quality and expensive.

Thanks for the replies and advice.

I've thought of an issue with my plan. Or two...

1) I'll need to get the neck pickup pocket routed out for a humbucker; I think the neck position on the Silo30 is routed out for a single.

2) I think the neck pickup will need to be reverse polarity in order to get hum cancelation in the in between positions. Can anyone confirm this please?

I'll send an email to customer service for some wiring schematics tomorrow.
