Jimmy the bottom line is you are happy with the tone you are getting from the mods you made. As I said before you can grab two of the same models off the rack and each guitar is going to have its own mojo, it just may be your friends guitar resonates better unplugged, but after all it is an electric guitar and what matters is how it sounds plugged in.
