Umm, guys, I take it these are hard to photograph, but this looks very different from the Namm pic I fell in love with ?
Similar angle, very different look ?

I think the flash tends to wash out the color in most pics. It certainly makes my Morse Blueburst look brighter than it really is.

Note how the headstock washes out... in person it's so dark you can't read the sig or the EBMM logo.

Yeah, I was guessing it was the flash washing it out.
You did use flash, right Mike ?

It is not washed out. The blue is lighter and there is less sparkle than desired. i noted that to the dealer after it arrived. The sparkle is on austerity budget.

I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago.
The Namm pics certainly seem have a lot chunkier sparkle than the previous versions.

I was assured that all 07 LE's have the same finish.
Let's just hope that they do.

I'll be mighty pi$$ed otherwise......

dizzy get your knickers un bunched...it is the same blue dawn as before

As you can see I've been assured by the man himself when I ordered.......... so let's hope so Rob.
The comparison pics above do show much less sparkle though ?

Big Poppa,

Are you saying that this reissue of Blue Dawn Sparkle is the same? I HAD to take mine outside in direct sunlight to see any flake in the paint. I am a big sparkle fan and am somewhat dissappointed in the finish

Blue Dawn is not the same type of "sparkle" as the Stratus Blue, Gremlin Green, etc colors.

By nature the Blue Dawn has a subdued sparkle to it - it does not have gigantic metal flake. Bright light causes the sparkles to show, low light causes it to shimmer a bit. Using a flash causes the sparkles to show more.

Comparing my Blue Dawn AL and Axis Sport with the Blue Dawn LUKE that just arrived at the store, the color is the same.

Ok guys here are 3 ZERO flash natural room light pics. you tell me

If you put an older Blue Dawn under the same lighting conditions, the color is identical.

Sterling said it is the same old Blue Dawn, and it is. Maybe I'll grab the AL and Axis & head over to the store on my day off and do a photo shoot with them and the LUKE --- it's the same color.

Well, this is kinda the reason that made me start that thread "Buying a JP6... how does Blue Dawn look in person?".

The color in Mike's picture is very different. It's a very nice color, but very... different.

I'm started to think Blue Dawn is the blue equivalent of Mystic Dream, one blink of an eye and the color has changed :p

Lighting conditions will make guitars look a lot different.

However when you compare the photo of DaveB holding the guitar at NAMM and the photos above - there does seem to be a lack of sparkle - you can't deny that?

Look forward to seeing Pete Dubaldos pictures.

Sterling said it is the same old Blue Dawn, and it is.

BP's answer was actually to my comment about the greater, chunkier sparkle of the NAMM LE JP6, in saying that IT was the same as the OLD Blue Dawn.

My previous posts about that guitar asked whether it (like many show-pieces, whether it be cars, guitars etc etc) had that little bit extra put into it to enhance the display.

I was assured not.
Many more would have read the same and therefore, like me, would be expecting the NAMM finish & sparkle.
