Apples and oranges here. I'd say Axis because; ROSEWOOD, one of a kind. Also, I don't like the bullet inlays on the JP (unless it is Petrucci's guitar ). Too bad you can't get both...

He could take one without bullet inlays (I don't have them on my JP)

I didn't think rosewood was an option on the Blue Dawn Axis and AL models....

rosewood was the deal clincher for me. didnt need another maple AL. hopefully its the first of many rosewood AL's!

i choose JP mainly because i'm not a fan of floyd rose. if both of them are floating bridge? it will take me some time to make a decision.

JP is floater.
