2010 classic stingray

I have had fender basses most my life and now i have a 2010 classic stingray
i like it way more than my mia p the fit and finish is 10 times better and the tone
is as good as i have ever heard any way my question is where does the classic stingray line up in the mm bass line??

Congrats on the new bass. Nice view too. As far as where the basses line up, that is subject to opinion. I believe the Classics came out about 2 years ago or less but they carry over many of the features the first Music Man basses had.

You should put that thing of beauty in front of a full length mirror so you can admire the back at the same time. If the motor beaks on your house boat, you have a real nice paddle! I love the Classic, White is my fave too. Maybe just a cream p/u cover then your set.

im assuming when you say "where does the classic stingray line up in the mm bass line" you mean to ask "is it higher or lower quality than the other basses?".

if that's true the answer is "equal". All Ernie Ball Music Man Basses are pro quality. they don't directly have an "entry line" vs a "pro line".... they're all in the pro line.

Sterling by Music Man has an official license to produce instruments based on MM designs and that's as close as MM gets to having a "mid level" line.

Another company, OLP, used to have a similar arrangement and they produced entry level gear but that arrangement ended a couple years ago.

Also gone is the SUB line which were mid level instruments made by Music Man, in the US.

AFAIK the chrome hardware was different as well, at least the tuners were not made by Schaller. And the SUBs could be had as passive versions, while the active versions featured the (less expensive) 2 band preamp. And I think the body wood was different as well: Poplar (which was used in the mid 90's on solid colour 'Rays) instead of ash.

But, as many here state, who have and play them next to their "top line" EBMM instruments, they are very solid and well made instruments.
