2017 Stingray & Cutlass vs 2018 fretboard edges

Hey everyone, I'm really gasing for a 2018 Stringray or Cutlass in stealth black which unfortunately are not in stock anywhere around me. I love everything about these guitars on paper, and this would be my first EBMM guitar as well.

Today I found some 2017 Stingray & Cutlass models at a local Guitar Center which I went and played and I was pretty disappointed with the edges of the neck. I was under the impression that they were rolled.
The 2017's weren't sharp per say, but they definitely weren't what I considered rolled and dug into my hand pretty good. And just to be clear, I'm not referring to the fret ends, but the actual fretboard.

It seems there's only subtle differences with these new 2018 models, mainly the roasted neck but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm if the edges are rolled slightly more?
