This is my first post here, so please be gentle folks
I had a chance to try out one of these new 20th Anniversary Silhouettes today in a local store. I am actually on the lookout for an Axis Super Sport but this one really caught my attention. I don't know a huge amount about them but I have to say this was one impressive guitar. Gorgeous, with the highest standards of fit and finish and a beautiful birdseye neck. I wasn't so sure about the chrome pickup covers and knobs although they grew on me after a while. I think it might look really good with zebras.
Cosmetics aside, the playability of the neck was just amazing and I didn't think it could get any better than the axis or JP6. The tone is very luscious with a nice degree of snap when necessary, especially with the in-between or neck setting. I wasn't so sure about the bridge pickup with gain, but this may have been an amp problem since I was using a Marshall (since that's what I am familiar with). I am guessing this guitar would work nicely with a Fender or Mesa amp. Probably a bit expensive for my wallet, but very impressive.
