philiprst-----yeah thats exactly the point I was makin------I am definitely comin from the strat side of the street. I'm glad to hear an LP guys insight into this discussion. The point I was makin(not very eloquently) that this is as close to an LP type sound you'll get on a bolt on type guitar. There's no way to replicate the low end of the LP without the mass of the body and the set neck absolutely has an effect on the LP sound. Your point about amps is indeed very important---I try to check out a guitar initially with just a simple clean tube amp like the f**ner junior set flat so I can really hear what the guitar is producing. I'm currently lookin for a good crunchy amp for dirty rhythm and leads---I have a hot rod deluxe I love for clean stuff---but the distortion in the amp is crap. I got used to 2 amps for clean and dirty----once you go there you'll never find just one amp that does it all!!! BTW--the switchblade looks very interesting---lookin 4 one to try...........
