The reason I wound up on this forum is because I was looking for one of those anniversary basses online. Someone said they sell for about 1500.00 USD and that is not true. They retail for 25.000 USD. I have had several in my hand...and passed it by even when I could afford it and now regret having doing so. I always thought they would be easy to find, but man have I been wrong. I would definitely purchase it if I were you and I would take good care of it. It may not have appreciated in price but it definitely won't depreciate in price to a sub par 1500.00 unless it is someone who doesn't know what they own. It is the most beautiful Music Man StingRay ( my opinion ) which they have ever built. The stupid reason I don't own one is beause at the time I had the opportunity to get one, I only desired to play basses with neck through body and not a bolt on. Otherwise I would own one of those jewels. Want to hear something funny ? I own a Modulus Quantum bass...and guess what ( here's the kicker ) it has a bolt on neck ( lol ) . So buy the Bass if you want and play the bass ( without a belt buckle of course ).
I would only use it in the studio or to play at home, but I would never gig with it for fear of marring it and causing a depreciation. It will appreciate in value, maybe not super fast, but trust me...finding one of those babies for sale is hard to do.
