Songman,
I'm no expert on the inside workings at EBMM (but I was there for the open house and did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night) but I'd think it has something to do with the amount of orders for a certain model. They have to get the CNC's programmed for each one and they run "x" amount of a certain model and then re-program and move to the next.

good things come to those who wait... patiently ;)

Can Someone please explain to me why piezo would and is taking longer than a non-piezo model??? It's not like piezo is the new invention. With respect, I just don't understand why it would take longer to install a piezo.

+1 on what fsmith said. They make a batch of non-piezo's, then a batch of piezo's. I would imagine they make the non-piezo's first because they're more likely to sell. (I'd bet that piezo-equipped models represent a minute fraction of total sales.)

Of course, they only make what the dealers order, too.

I dont know about "thin". I got a Silhouette, which I have upgraded to my liking with fatter pick ups and 500K pots, and those solid steel saddles, but the Luke still sounds really full and big with the neck pick up. But as was said before, the 20th Silo is a "tone monster", and it did sound fatter......me like!!
Sorry for drifting from the original thread a bit but what does the 500k pot do and what was your choice of pickups?

Apparently, the 500K pots give you a wider range of use of the volume and tone, and brightens it up a bit. And the pups I chose for the Silo were DiMarzio BREED neck and bridge.

To get back on topic, I've been thinking recently wether I should have gotten the 20th w/ the piezo. It is too late now, but either way for some reason I keep gettin dettered from the piezo, even tho I want one (WTF is wrong with me). Still, I really want my 20th!!!:D

i wouldve liked a piezo, but i didnt order my 20th silo directly, the supplier was getting a few in and i put my name down for one of them as they'll be in any day now. been thinking the whole time whether the extra wait may have been worth it to get the piezo, oh well.

Steve,
I understand what you're trying to say. However when I order Axis Super Sport with Piezo, It's not like it's going to take longer than when I order A.S.S. without piezo.

Perhaps, but it's not like they start making your guitar the minute you order it. They'll look at the schedule and see when they're making the next batch of piezo-equipped A.S.S.es and they'll work yours into that batch. I'm pretty sure this is how it goes, but only someone 'official' could confirm that.

(And it might take a little longer to make your piezo model... someone does wire that bugger up by hand, along with the rest of the electronics. And then it gets tested.)

i ordered one w/piezo and have to wait till end of the year. thats quite long but i need the piezo a lot on stage cause i am the only guitarist in our coverband and there are many songs started w/acoustic and then change to heavy guitars (ironic....). the piezo sound of the JP though and acoustic exciter is so good that i can leave my boats (aka acoustic guitars) at home. in church its also nice to change quick between acoustic and electric. i run the piezo sound always through PA and not the AMP but i am searching for a cool acoustic amp. roland ac60 is ok. but maybe genz benz or something else...

i hope the long wait, the money is worth the guitar. i've never tested one before because our shops nearby.....ya know...

precisely why i want the piezo, so our singer doesnt have to play acoustic "guitar" anymore!!

never tried one myself, so i'm looking forward to it on my Axis SS.

you can mix normal pickups with piezo? i didnt think you could, though i havent played a piezo equipped axe before. i thought you just switched it on, but i've noticed its different for some EBMM guitars.

i use the clean pos2 sound through my normal setup w/comp and the piezo through PA together. so you can make a bit stereo mix and its a great sound.
on JP you have an own toggleswitch (upper horn) to switch between: magnetic, magnetic & piezo, piezo. and you have two outputs. when u use both you can send the signal through different setup. when you use only the magnetic output with a mono calble you can send the piezo signal through you electric setup but that doesnt make sense for me (dont like a piezo through a E-amp).
silhouettes dont have the toggle switch but you can use the volpotis to blend in and out various signals. but i'll hava a look into the wiring of a silo and mabe build in that switch cause its very useful to switch live within songs. we'll see.
