20th Silo report

OK folks--what else can I say bout this plank that hasn't been said already. Its simply stunning. I honestly cant tell you the last time I picked up a guitar and got this excited. I played it for bout 2 hrs yesterday and wow. I'm from the Str** side of the street and I've been lookin for a LP type guitar forever-----and this nails it. The clarity and tone of all pickup positions both clean and dirty is awesome and bell like. Start backin off the volume knob and another thousand tones spring up. And this was through a Marshall practice amp!!!! Can't wait to plug it into my full man-sized rig. Thank you EBMM--this is a guitar they will have to pry from my cold, dead fingers. Congrats man, I'm sure it's a mighty fine guitar. Would be cool be hear a few clips from that monster if you get a chance.

Take this with a grain of salt...but The twentieth Silo is the best guitar we have eever made. The fit finish playability are fantastic , but this thing just sounds killer.

mines a hardtail no piezo---the specs say 7lbs without trem----I'd have to say this feels about right----lighter than expected and definitely lighter than my Luke

I've been thinking about one of these, but I already have (and love) an Axis SS and want something different. The two humbuckers actually put me off the 20th Silo for that reason.

How is it the 20S for Strat-like smoother tones? I hope that's not a dumb question.

Man, am I glad I ordered one for myself !!! Can you guys at EBMM work a little faster, so I can get mine in couple of weeks ??? J/K!!!!! I really cant wait to get my hands on this beauty. I have a feeling it's going to be my MAIN guitar, even tho I cant decide between my regular Silo and Luke which I like better. I'm gonna go to GC tomorrow and see if they possibly got one for me to try out, because that would be freakin sweet!!!

Now here's me thinking that the Petrucci is the finest guitar that EBMM have ever made......some kind of hybrid of the two would just be incredible?????.............

ghunter---no strat tones here-----the middle position is a little thinner---but this beast is more in the LP/ PR* camp. you could probably put a push/pull pot on for the tone and split the coils that'll get you closer to a single coil sound.

Sound-wise ... can you make any comparisons to other MM humbucker guitars? Morse, Axis, etc.

Just really curious how it sounds (I know ... describing it is a tall order ...)

Now Beej ----this is totally subjective of course---and I've only played it for maybe 3-4 hrs through my small rig. Also I heard tommyinDE play it and a morse back to back. It seems very similar to the Morse but smoother and rounder. It is definitely not as edgey and aggresive like the Axis. Similar to a ce24 I played but the ce24 sounded like it had a blanket over it compared to the clarity of the Silo's pickups. Honestly the tones I've coaxed out of this guitarso far are firmly in the Allman Bros. and Warren Hayes camp.

i played that one.......& thru my main rig.......which is very large sounding & telling setup.
i wish i could swing one.....but ......
i cant now.
it seemed like a giant les paul w/o any muddyness......& very open sounding natural midrange....w/ no hint of brittleness........nice gain........w/o honkyness.
playability & tuning stability is MUCH better thab a lp......(now theres a news flash eh ???)

Tommy-----next time I pop down for a gig----youre welcome to have some visitation with it----or if you'd ever need it for recording I'd loan it to ya no problem.
