Guys,

I think I need some help deciding which one of these two gems to pick:

a) 20th Anniversary Silhouette, hardtail, Piezo

b) BFR Luke in walnut burst

Given the fact that I already have a Luke and generally tend to prefer hardtails it should be an easy pick, but the BFR would be the "better" deal (in regards to both list and street price of the BFR it's quite a decent offer!). Plus, I never played a 20th before and won't have the chance to do so...I'd have to buy it "blindfolded"...

Any thoughts?

I don't even think you can compare the two...
They are so different to one another! 22 vs 24/V shape vs C shape/HSS active vs HH passive etc

That being said... unless you're really hanging for an additional Luke, get the 20th!
They are awesome!! With hard tail and piezo you just can't go wrong! Do it! :D

i've not noticed a big tone difference beetween BFR/STANDARD Luke
they are all very good +1 for the bfr for the look

I know it's comparing apples and pears...the only catch with the 20th is that I won't be able to play it before buying...

I didn't get to either, just went with my gut... But the 20th reputation and forum advice certainly helped :D

For me the biggest thing was the core tone difference between a 22 and 24 axe.
That being said, the 20th is a killer machine :)

Get the 20th. That configuration is very rare. I can't remember how many were made, but it was less than 20. (I think it was something like 13.) If you can get one, do it. You can always sell it later if you don't like it. The BFR Luke will be around for a long time.

Rob, if it's a maple fret board, then yes it's 1 of 13 just like mine.

I think we need a few pictures to push you in the right direction.

I have to give a nod to the 20th as well. If I had the money, I would buy one right now, no questions asked!

20th all the way, especially with piezo!

I've had two 20-ths, one stoptail, one trem - as You can see in my sig, the hardtail is the one that stayed. Unless You have a problem with the neck shape, You'll get the feeling You have just discovered the best guitar tone in Your life. That's no exaggeration - You get used to that feeling of sensation, but it stays amazing every time You pick the 20-th up.

Now, where exactly is the 20th located so I can contact the seller to stop pestering you?

Go for the 20th... Main Reason is that you can always order a BFR Luke later if you don't like it. Yeah, you might lose out on a "better deal" but you will also not be left with a case of the "what iffs". It should not be to hard to sell the 20th here on the forum if you hate it and unless the seller is asking an outrageous price you won't lose $$$ on it. That is assuming you aren't blown away by it... 20ths are amazing beasts!

i have a BFR Luke and a 20th as well.

Apples and oranges. Personally i'd get the 20th since you already have a Luke. Diversity is good IMO. The only drawback would be you not liking the 20th's neck. I've never heard anyone complain about the 20th's neck tho so it's really not much of a risk.

Anywho... FWIW i vote 20th
