ANyone have any updates on this guitar. it's been several weeks and seems like not many reviews or comments have been made. I am especially interested in tone.

ALso,
How are the Humbuckers on 20th silo different than those in Axis??? And i don't mean Axis super sport.

thanks

It's very unlikely that anyone has one yet-the first orders were placed at NAMM, so they'll likely be shipped early to mid-April.

Slight correction ;) The first order was phoned in by me about 2 hours before the convention doors opened, but yes late April (probably May) sounds about right.

songman, I played the guitar at the NAMM show and all I can say is that the guitar is beautiful looking and sounding, its very modern sounding, thick, not sure what makes it heavy, its either the body woods ir the pups but I would say ther are bout as hot as the axis buckers, the guitar was a good balance of warmth and brightness, I loved it more than any EB I have ever played, really -

Could you (or anyone who's tried it) elaborate on the sound of these pups?
ie: what song or artist would be close?

When you say it's thick, I envision something similar to an LP.

Just wait for the Dream Theater DVD/CD of their April 1, 2006, concert at Radio City Music Hall. :D Okay, granted, it's shaped like a JP model, but I bet it's similar. :D

I thought about that, but I would guess we won't see that until late summer or fall at the earliest.

Fogman, the guitar was meaty sounding, it was hard to tell because I was playing through a digital processor into headphones, but it sounded meatier than the silo I picked up and the AL that I had played as well at the show, it felt at hot as an axis sensitivity wise but the pups are more vintagey than the axis, they fit the guitar well -
