I get a call last month from Pete - "They started your guitar" Woo hoo!!!
I get a call last week from Pete - "Your guitar's ready and they're shipping tomorrow." 20th Primo Flame Hardtail Piezo on the way!!!
I get a call from Pete Wednesday but I couldn't talk to him because I was in the middle of a meeting at work. My assupmtion of the conversation that I didn't have with him was "Shipping your 20th, here's the tracking number"
I call back later that day and leave a message. "I assume you called because my 20th was being shipped out to me.......more words, words, words.......I assume you'll post torture pics later."
That night I looked for the obligitory Torture pics that Pete does so well. Not there. I conclude that he must have not had the time that day so maybe they'll be there tomorrow.
Thursday - bad day for air travel. Stranded in Atlanta. "Oh well, at least I when I get to the hotel I can see my new baby." No torture pics on the forum. Hmmm, not a big deal by any strech but curious.
Friday - finally get back home and get a call from Pete - "Your guitar has shown up" (Yippee!!)
"but" (what do you mean-but?!?)
Apparently there was some rare shift in the space-time continuum that resulted in a bizarre series of events where by a guitar with the right pedigree (serial plate, work order) but the wrong genetics (physically different than what I ordered) ended up at Pete's.
OH THE TORTURE!!!
The Universe is put back in its place now thanks to the stellar Customer Service of Pete and the Musicman family. A new Primo Flame 20th is being put back on the line, with a crazy hand picked flame top, for delivery soon.
I told Pete that at least I have the honor of having the longest build time on the 20th since I saw Norm's come in. Nope- foiled again!! Apparently Beej has that honor. Rats
So I come away from this with:
1. The mental picture of a confused Pete doing the six finger head scratch.
2. Customer Service doing what they do best.
3. The best Torture story yet.
4. A return to the first phone call from Pete - "Hey, Doug, your guitar is started."
