That is so cool! I hope that color will be available. I am not normally a fan of that color but it always looks so nice on EBMM guitars especially the Morse!

As Colin mentioned, Steve said it will be coming out at some point in the future but he wants to make sure the output is properly balanced.

Ya know, if Steve is having some issues with balancing the output on the prototypes, I would gladly take a few from him for some bench testing :)

You do know that's a photoshop of my Purple Sunset that I did back when the y2ds first came out and the 2006 black/gold LE models were starting to ship, right?

right?!?!?

I would like to think that photograph inspired Steve's prototype, but that's just me hoping.

Well, for 25th anniversary, it's OK to do some chambering or different colors. But what is supposably better IMO, is that Steve design a totally new pickups with dimarzio so it can match different wood types. Eg., basswood, mahogany, ...
Then there will be time for all sorts of add-ons.

Seriously, it's pointless. I am currently borrowing a custom shop Fender Telecaster from a friend. It was relic'd from the factory. Really nice guitar, but these scratches into the wood DO NOT make it more cool.

Yea I would much prefer a nice clean brand new guitar than a NEW beat up guitar already. How will a relic guitar look like in say 10-20 years??? I played a "antique" Suhr which played great and was a nice guitar and all, but the beat up look is silly I think. Either way, some people like it and they are entitled to it. I would really much prefer a nice new blackburst chambered SM 25th :D!

I love the SMY2D. Looks cooler than the standard one.

But the standard one is "THE" one, if you know what I mean...I think I´ll probably be buying the regular morse now, Blue/Black. That´s as classic as it gets.

Even tough the SMY2D Purple Sunset color is like a drug...I can´t stop looking at it in my home!

Back to the main topic : Steve really deserves a 25th anniversary guitar !
Besides my wife still does not know what she wants to offer me for my 40th birthday ....
