Forumites -- I've ordered a new 25th BFR from Bass Central. They have in stock both the 4HH and the 4HSS. Anyone like to chime in with advice on which one to get? I appreciate all opinions. I need to know my mid-day Monday before it ships. So, bring it on...

With the HH you get the bridge humbucker in the same position as on the StingRay (aka "Sweet Spot"), which will give you good approximations (there's nothin like the real deal!) of a 'Ray in parallel and a Sterling in series.

And, BP named the 25th/Reflex HH "Monstertruck" for a reason... it sounds huge (but still has great subtleties).

What else: I love the sound of the neck H alone (also on a 'Ray HH), and think that the 25th neck H, series mode, passive is a faboutastic sound!

However, if already have enough classic sounding EBMM's and want something completely different, then the 25th HSS BFR might be a great choice and a very very very special bass.

i still remember that Tony Levin video where he points out the neck pickup on his 25th HSS and says something like, "that's the one you have to look out for."

i'm waiting for one more payday before i order a Reflex 4 HSS.

The poll was 8 to 6 in favor of the 4HSS. That is what I originally ordered, so it's on it's way. Thanks for the votes!

Congrats again, I definitely want to see that beauty when itcomes in. Excellent choice!

I just said goodbye to my BFR today, and I had a REALLY hard time letting it go. But it's fretless sister ain't goin' nowhere!
