Nothing wrong with asking but to exclude others on a public forum is not good form. Hence Rex asking if an email would have been better since you didn't want others involved.

Good luck on your next EBMM. I hope it is everything you dream it to be.

I think you and the other chap that also mentioned this have both missed my point entirely, and please accept this with all due respect, the reason I said "for BP and Crew only" was because only they would have known the answer to my question as to why the string retainer was present only in the later photos.

I like and respect everyone here why would I be disrespect you all by writing something "not in good form" as you've stated?

It was to avoid all the good willing "assumptions" from those who in reality could only suppose the reason whereas Mr. Ball & Co. where the ones who knew the real deal.

Thanks, now please let's not make a big deal out of this.

PEACE

That's impossible on this forum. Just wait....soon enough, someone will start a "my bass is humming" thread and we're off.

As usual Mr bovinehost you are correct. Which is why I have decided to endorse one of Mr. Ball's latest quotes in my signature, because I really really feel his cry for help deep in my subconcious.

Oh and T-Bone.... shup lol (stop teasing) :D

Back on the subject, the 3 main things that attract me the most about the 25th Anni bass are as follows:

  • the small and contoured Axis type body which just look sooooo comfortable
  • the fact that you can get it with my favourite choice i.e. the maple fingerboard, although I have said it many times I love my Bongo but I am not too keen on painted neck backs, whereas the wax/untreated maple necks are my favourite medium.
  • the versatile pickup configuration with the push on/off and the addition of active / passive bypass will make this bass one of the most versatile ever within the EBMM range.
Can't wait to try it!

My favorite BP quote in this thread was definitely, "...if we shipped them with retainers we probably thought that was a good thing."

Jack, my SR4 HS is humming... does that mean the HSS does hum even louder due to the neodynamitium magentas?

I just had to ;)

I have made a lot of intrinsecate finance calculations + projections and have estimated that in 2 months time, having been able to clear an outstanding bill (ouch!!) for the replacement of all my house windows with double glazed ones, I should be ready to order a new 25th Anniversary bass and it now all depends on my impressions of it, once I have tried one at the UK bash. Let's wait and see.
