I wanted to get some opinions from y'all........... ;)

I've got two Stingray's right now...I've been a stingray lover for a loooong time.
One is the GC model and an ebony board (which I love). The second is the 2005 LE Buttercreme model.....
I have an opportunity to get a 25th Ann. 5 HSS BFR All rosewood neck. I played it and love the sound..
I will have to trade in one of my current ones for this. My question is, should I do it? the 25th is such a different look but it seems to get all the stingray sound I love so much...and I'm totally infatuated with the rosewood necks...it is just such a different body style, I'm hesitant...
If you have a 25th, how much do you love them?
I wish I could just own all three...but finances dictate otherwise..

Thanks :D

More than any other bass I own. It's a chance in a lifetime to own what is definately the most prized instrument in the whole EBMM range. And the fact that yours is a rosewood BFR neck adds to the rarity of it.

You will find it difficult to play any other basses you own.

That's what I'm afraid of...I want that thing soooo bad........well, I just have to decide which Stingray I need to sacrifice..........anyone other 25th anniversary owners out there with their .2 cents?

I have an opportunity to get a 25th Ann. 5 HSS BFR All rosewood neck.

DO IT... DO IT NOW.... Don't Think About It A Single Second Longer!!!

Seriously there were only 25 25ths with BFR necks... only 6 of them were 5 HSS. This opportunity WILL NOT come again, and if it does it will be a very long time.

I have the sister to the one you are thinking about and it is the perfect instrument "." I would buy it again in a heartbeat (and consider myself extremely fortunate for being able to buy it the first time). I would probably buy a second BFR 25th if ever given the opportunity too. Really... they are THAT good. It will also grow on you the more you play it. If you think you loved it at first sight/touch/note you will love it more after playing it for extended periods of time.

I repeat DO IT NOW... Stop reading this thread... buy the bass. Go... we'll wait here for pictures. :D

I had two Stingray's when i got my 25th. I have since moved one of them due to it gathering dust in the closet. The 25th is the ultimate EBMM bass and i would jump at the chance to own one with a BFR Rosewood neck. I would personally keep the Buttercream just because i love that color. Based on your location i am guessing this is the one at Rainbow Guitars which would make it #14 of 25. JOSH

If you decide to buy the 25th, don't trade it, you probably won't get near what it's actually worth. Sell it here or talkbass.com.

BTW, if that buttercream is a 2-band eq, I'm interested in buying it!

As said, DO IT NOW!!! If I had the chance for a BFR 25th I would not hesitate one second. Credit cards are there to allow you to react quickly and recover later :D

Seriously, buy it, if you dont like it there are probably 20 people here (including me) that would be happy to take it off your hands.

Heeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllll yeah! Don't hesitate! The 25th I had was probably the most even and best sounding bass I think I have ever had based on some recordings that I made that I have had the chance to listen to. I regretted selling her immediately but the weight was just too much for me as I have a degenerative bone disease. I am currently on a search for one in the 9 to 9.5 lb range in a 5 string HH configuration with a maple board. I will buy another as soon as I can find one that is compatible with me. JOSH got my other one and I am sure he can vouch for what a sweet bass she is....I have a couple of SR5s right now and I am about to pick up a 20th Anniversary SR 5. Once I get the 20th and the 25th I am done until I can get a Natural Custom Classic and THEN I am totally done for a while....maybe....kind of depends on the game changer but that is another thread!

Bottom line...GET THE 25th!! You will NOT be sorry!

:D

Peace,

T

yeah, do it, you won't look back, I'm lucky to have two non BFR 25th's ( I was going to say regular but that word can't be applied to any 25th ) + 1000 on everything said so far.

Get it...but not on your credit card with insane interest. Save your sheckels, put it on layaway, whatever. Unless you are a working musician that NEEDS an instrument for income, I say pay cash.

i did this with my Bongo (I think it is in now, don't know, just got off the plane from Europe). I kept making cash payments. All my now!
