i have a jp and its awesome. im looking to get a second ernie ball but i want something different not sure in what way but a little different. i kinda feel that i need the jp neck or something like it (along the lines of wizard I) once i bought the jp i sold all my guitars except a 93 ibanez s470 but the quality of ibanez has slipped since then and i love the unfinished necks. what guitars do you guys recommend and why?

Hey Fat,

Wow, perfect timing!!!

Check out the Axis or Luke neck, and I guarantee you there goes the 93' Ibanez up for sale if need be!!:)

well i tried the luke...really cool trem and of course a quality guitar, but the neck seemed way to copact for me and im not really used to holding the guitar like a baseball bat. i could see how that would be cool if you were more of a bendy bluesy kind of player. whats the neck like on the al or the y2d?

If the neck shape needs to be like the JP, you're not going to find any EBMMs with a neck shape that's similar and "unfinished." The JP neck is completely unique within the EBMM line. I think that the only neck in the EBMM that's remotely similar to your JP is another JP. I guess one could say that the BFR JP would be similar, but that's a finished neck.

All EBMMs are worth a look, though, IMHO. I've enjoyed trying out the ones I've tried. The only one I don't want is the Axis, because I prefer to stay away from Floyds.

Rob,

I can't bear to have you be without an "Axis" in your line up.

I'm going to have BP make you a "one of" Axis stop tail.

How's that for a Christmas present!! You can thank me later.:)
