It's been 3 years since the acquisiton of my first StingRay 5 which happened to be the first MM i've ever laid my hands on. I love my fretless and my HH and I know i'll love my HS but man, this bass has played plenty of gigs, got some mojo, and is the best playing bass i've ever even touched. Thanks to Ritchie for halfway reminding me. :D

You're just jealous of my sterling turning 10.

Nice to have that bass that feels like home. That bass will always be that special bass in your collection.

I should have told you that there's a trans teal ray for sale down here at a local music shop at a LOW price for a new bass.

Too bad it has sprouted frets. :(

Why must you keep harassing me about getting black? LOL

Trans Teal & Black are both awesome looking basses ( so is Trans White, but it's not available )

Let me rephrase my post.........

Good for you, Stanky.

I failed to note that in November of last year, I passed the three year mark with my original Sapphire Black Bongo 5 HH.

I'm sitting in the studio right now with that bass on my lap, and it's still as kick-ass as it was when I first opened that box from Bass Central.

(A certain rather well-known bassist with the initials CR, and who may or may not have been involved with Steely Dan, was over the other day and was very impressed with the various Bongos, but this one is still the best.)

I of course salute gear whore-ish behaviour, but there is something to be said for the ones that will never leave.

Andrew, that is one nice piece of wood there. I love the figuring you can see above the pickguard, and most of all the maple board! Looks like a keeper to me!
