30th

Mark,

I hear you, it's looking likely. Besides I like the cool cases they come with.

Oh, and it's a lesbian- free band now. :p 100% heterosexual. I'll send you an updated photo when the website gets updated.

I`ve been on the fence with a 30th and a HH SR4 Dargie. It looks like the 30th is gonna win. It`s a hard choice since both are rare and will become collectable, (although mine will not be a collectors item) but the chance of ever seeing another Mahogany body on a SR4 are much more rare than a cool color.

You forget those incredibly cool martini glass inlays... :D
(I'm totally happy to already have a DD and not need to make that decision!)

Before I bought my 30th I tried it against a regular Stingray. There is something special on how the notes speak on that bass compared to a regular stingray. Go for it. It's a special bass in more ways than one.

My 30th is not noticeably heavier than the other SR4s I've tried, but it looks and sounds like the best SR4 ever because it is. The only bass I've ever sold because it was too heavy was an ash-bodied 70s Jazz that weighed about 14 lbs -- in comparison, my 30th is just a hair over 10 lbs. Get a wide strap and you'll be fine, but if you pass on the 30th you will regret it.

Played it for a decent time today. The sound of these things is amazing. Like possibly the nicest 'ray I've played. Closing in for some negotiation ....watch this space.

try not to think about it

take it from one who got sidelined and missed a 20th SR5 ... Never, Ever, Ever hesitate to grab a MUsicMan anniversary bass when you are in position to eliminate a lifetime of heartache, regrets and grief!!!:)

grab that 30th or pay the eternal price of trying to outlive the pain of missing the boat!!!:)

never mind the weight, I'm the lucky custodian of a very heavy , fine quality, vintage collector bass in solid birdieseye maple and she's always a joy to hold and play just for the tone and playability, never mind "what a looker she is!!:)

go for the 30th and don't look back:cool::) remember, this is a MusicMan bass, not some corporate, pretender cookie cutter version:eek:

all the bass,

Oh, I think I know about those things, in fact there's another thread about the place on that very topic. However, you need not fear in my case. No-one else (whether by the name of Dan or otherwise) is getting this money. My only dilemma is that I found another 30th in a local store that seems lighter, though more expensive, than the one I had my eye on.

I simply cannot believe this thread???
It's been over a week since you posted, and it's obviously a good deal, you got the cash, so where the hell are the pics???
About weight: Get a 4" strap, and you'll carry 15 lbs for hours, easy!

@pzo: there are still some dealers who have a 20th in stock.. mr felton at basscentral got a few.. also, the scandinavian distributor got 2 left if you are desperate. both single H, maple neck. one is quilt the other is flame. i think they both are matching headstocks ;)

I can't hear you. I don't want to hear you. I have absolutely no interest in your information. I don't need such basses. They have too many strings. And they are way too expensive. Go elswhere.... :D
