Holy S**** Batman! This may be the best bass I've ever played. Even with sub-optimal strings, and a less than perfect set-up this bass has a beautiful musical quality. It needs to have the action raised at the bridge and the neck set with just a little less relief.

I am actually digging the gauge of the strings, 45-100 i think? although the tension could be a little tighter as I drop the E to D often.

My rig is a Demeter pre w/parametric eq, a QSC power amp and Epifani cabs (UL-212 and UL-210).

Now I want a fretless 30th!!

What strings will give me more tension than the stock strings and still remain the same diameter?

thanks,

Rev. C

Welcome & Congrats! Mine has me back in a mode I haven't been in for years ... just having it on me most of the time at home, walking around playing, not even plugged in, lovin' it.

Man, those 30th Stingrays are so beautiful and from everyone says sound amazing. Maybe I'll pick a used on up down the road.

The 30th is likely the best 4 string bass I have ever played.

It was a bit pricy on release and I had to pass on one last year. That and I was playing mostly 5ers last year.
