30th pickguard

I'm looking for more variation on my 30th, and i thought hey why not a new pickguard. But i don't know what color fits the crimson color.

What's YOUR choice of color to match your 30th apart from the black one?

I'm not trying to be an @ss...but I personally think the 30th is a masterpiece.
And I believe there is no reason to change anything about it...including the PG.

I know that it is your first 'ray, but let me tell you how it is...

Your 1st Ray...is quite possibly the best Ray!

if you are gonna put some other PG on it...don't get rid of the original!

p.s. I have a 30th on order, and I wouldn't dare do anything to it.

ahaha i sure as hell won't throw the original one away! My friend gave me a tort pickguard before and it looked fugly on it so i changed it back. It won't hurt to change the PG a few times will it?

I guess you are right.
I just pray I won't see a 30th with a replacement graphite neck, an added P-bass pup, some barts., and a badass8 bridge.

but in my opinion....I have never, EVER, seen a stingray that looked as good as the 30th.
but i digress, i'm not out to argue my opinion like some TB thread!

Maybe a clear one would look good.

I don't see anything wrong with changing the pickguard, especially if you save the original one. It's not like you're asking about scalloping the neck or routing it for a p-bass pickup...

I think a nice vintage cream one with black as the edging (so c/b/c) could look very nice. But otherwise clear would be lovely.

i will NEVER EVER change anything either than strings or pickguard on my 30th. Or i will shoot myself (You guys would shoot me first.)

Can i see a picture of the pickguard you're talking about azzy?

However the standard PG on the 30th is very tasty, but it's always nice to try something new. I deliberated for ageees whether to try swapping out my plain black guard on my Sterling as it did look really classy, but I love my new abalone guard

i think i might go with the white pearl, or even black pearl. They all look pretty good.

i think a PG change should be ok. IMO the 30th is perfect the way it is, but if you wanna bit of variety then go for it.

But be warned, if you post pictures in 6 months and have changed the neck or pickups or have slapped stickers on it or anything, im sure myself and a few others from here will be hunting you down and taking the bass to a bass protection agency somewhere
