I'm subbing for the bassist in a disco band I used to be in for the month of September, so I'm re-learning all the tunes I used to do with those guys. The 30th is gonna be THE BOMB for this gig. All those Chic tunes, Boogie Oogie Oogie, Car Wash, etc. just sound amazing with the 30th. I mean, it's THE TONE on the record! What a blast...Great, great, great, great bass. Way to go, BP!

I'm just playing along to some Chic on my 20th Anniv(after a really tough day at work), boy these things really are stress relievers. Perhaps I deserve a 30th!:)

Wasabi, where are you playing? I am a fellow Mobtown guy, who enjoys everything from Disco and Rush to Jazz. Unless it is some kind of wedding band, perhaps I could talk the wife into an evening of Disco.

I played a 30th and it is much more than just a pretty face.

Sorry...in this case it IS a wedding. But my primary band plays all over the Baltimore area, and some DC-ish stuff, too. That band plays a big variety of piano-based stuff: Billy Joel, Elton John, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, DMB, and lots of other stuff (Springsteen to disco). No Rush or actual jazz in that case. Use my SR5, but once I get comfortable playing a 4, the 30th will be out there, as well.
