What is the primary and or secondary setting that you use most and why?

Trying to find out what tone you are trying to get when you move the selector switch.

Example: When I do "Come Together" I turn the bass knob up all the way and move the selector switch to coils 3&4 or all the way towards the neck.

Otherwise, I like the 1&2 position most, all the way towards the bridge.

Let's see what everyone with HH models does.

Great Question:

My SR HH

I use Coils 3+4 (neck pickup) and 1 + 4 (outer coils) to record.

Live, mostly using 1 + 4 Outer coils...sometimes the inner coils 2+3.

I'm always switching though...depending on the song...LOVE that damn switch, as it beats picking up 4 different basses.

I like to use the middle position, with all the coils activated, for classic rock songs, and some 80's heavy metal, like maiden, 'tallica, etc.
but i also like coils 1&4 for jazzier stuff, and prog.
and the bridge coils for heavier music when i really need to cut through

I play an SR5 HH primarily in position 1, but like Bass Weed I'm a switch flicker. It really depends on the mood of the song. Add the 3 band eq in with the switch and there are 10,000 possibilities and anything goes !

Only 10 people have an HH model?

Still a big fat 0 for coils 3&4.

I'm still dialing mine in but I tend to ride in the middle position with all 4 coils. But I'll bounce between all of them, even in the middle of a song.

1+4 and 2+3 seem to be the two that I come back to the most, why? I like the sound of them the best through my EBS rig. Love that switch loads here.

Coils 2 and 3 for rock and roll type root fifth thump; 1,2.3 and 4 for general and especially slap use (using bit of mid boost; bass flat; bit of treble boost); coils 1 and 2 with bass and treble boosted, mid cut for classic Stingray sound; coils 3 and 4 for reggae - and the same with boosted mid, flat bass and slight treble boost - Stanley Clarke type sound!! This is on an SR4.

The switch is excellent, and combined with the power of the EQ means toy can dial in a vast range of usable tones.

Looks like coils 1,2,3,4 are taking the lead with coils 1&2 right behind.

I always used 1&2 because I thought is had more punch to it. Because of this thread I am moving the coil selection around to experiment and so far I am learning a few things.

Keep the comments and voting coming

I voted 1&2, although 1&4 got me a real deep tone this last rehearsal. I really dig the versatility of all the switch positions, they all sound different.
