Ok, My father is a Bassist, he is looking for a New 5 String. It is for One purpose only.
Recording in the Studio....... Country Music....
He has Decided to get an EBMM he is just not sure which one....
He is very particular about having a Very tight sounding Low B string.....
Any Thoughts???

There's always the Stingray HH and H/SC 5's, too. Both sound just flat out killer.

I prefer the StingRay 5, but my Bongos sounded great in the studio.

If hes only doing studio projects, Id say a H/SC Bongo.

I'm biased towards the Bongo, as it does cut exceptionally well in both studio and live mixes.

I've done recording with both, and I'll whole hearedly endorse either. I'd just make sure he plays both (especially if he can wait until the dual PU SR5's come out) since the neck dimensions are a little different IIRC, and the electronics packages are different.

Ill go into a bit more detail on my opinion, since I was in a hurry when I made my first reply.

The reason Id say a Bongo is because of the plug and play ease.

I get to use my amp and cab rig on the majority of my sessions, therefore, its easy for me to get the tone I want/need.

However, in a plug straight in situation, which I have done with the Bongos, they still smoked.

I recomended the H/SC because thats the config I got the best recorded tones with out of all the Bongo configs.
