The Volume pot on my Sterling 5 has been going on the fritz on and off for the passed few months. (If it isn't at full volume, or completely off it has a pretty annoying hiss sound) So I got a 500k pot from Seymour duncan, this is a good fit and wont change my sound (noticeably or negatively) will it?

thanks again for the help guys

in active circuitry it wont affect sound like it will in a passive bass. if it fits you should be fine.
personally i would use an eb original just because im a knucklehead ;)

Im the same type of Knucklehead that would want to use an original product, I just still have an endorsement from SD and I get breaks on certain things.... How much would an original Pot be from EBMM? I could always put the SD in another bass that needs fixing ;)

Have you tried a spray cleaner made for electrical components like pots? Could be just dirty contacts with in the pot. Just a thought, your gonna have to open it up anyway. Should be able to pick the spray up at a Radio Shack.......
