The string spacing on the Bongo6 is the same as it is on the Bongo5 and StingRay5. The width of the neck at the heel is 3.5".

Also- JM's bass switching could be due to the fact that some of the basses he has are made out of different body and neck woods and he felt that some of the basses worked better for different songs.

Thanks, they definitely worked fine and sounded great on every song he played :D Can you elaborate on the different woods that were used ?

I just got back from Dream Theater in Toronto.

I need that bass. Even if it isn't released as a lefty, I may end up buying one and just look at it ;)

Wasn't 'Dark Eternal Night' amazing?? Holy, the whole crowd was chanting.. just amazing.

I'll be posting a thread on my DT day yesterday soon... I met them in the morning before the concert!

"In the Name of God" is in C,but how JM tunes for that one I'm not sure. "As I Am" uses a raised C tuning where the top B sting is tuned to C,everything else is standard. So,it's probably something along those lines. BTW,what are the neck dimensions on the Bongo 6?

Yeah he tunes the B to C for "In the Name of God" as well. And for some reason on "Endless Sacrifice" he tunes the B all the way up to D. Also I believe in "These Walls" he tunes down to A. But as for "Panic Attack" I'm not really sure about that one either.

What woods are Myungs basses made from ? Is it mahogany? alder ?
What is his preference?

In the Name of God is standard except B tuned to C, but Endless Sacrifice and These Walls is standard. In Panic Atack everything is tuned down one note.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on Endless Sacrifice and These Walls. Yes you can play them in standard tuning, but every time I've seen Myung play Endless Sacrifice live he's clearly playing the D open on the B string. And on the Walk Beside the Band fan club DVD he has the B tuned down to A for These Walls.
