The Ernie Ball 6166 Volume pedal has a micro switch in it that allows you to change between two different "volume swell rates". Does it switch between audio and linear tapers or are they two different audio tapers?

Thanks,
Dave

well what norm didnt seem to address is what position does what kind of taper, or at least i couldn't see it in all that explanation. is the liner setting the up postion and the logarythmic setting the down postion? or is it the other way around?

Simple to find out for yourself. Just plug in a cable to your EBMM volume pedal output jack and then put an ohmmeter across your cable. Set the ohmmeter to approx. the same value of your pedal. (25 or 250 K) Move the pedal back and forth slowly and watch the values change to see which one acts linearly or logarithmic. Of course this will be easier to see with an analog model rather than a digital one. Or you could do what I did. Try it both ways and decide for your self, which one feels and sounds better. Then never change it again.

norm with all due respect, i dont have an ohmmeter. i couldnt really hear an audible difference between the switch positions. i just figured it could be answerd with a simple yeah or nay hahah. but if i ever do come across and ohmmeter i guess ill calculate it all out. meanwhile the question still stands.

God bless,

Tony
